# Create a task

> Schedule a watering, misting, or reminder task for a plant.

Before creating a task, read the [Tasks overview](/mintlify-demo/v1.1/tasks/overview) to understand how triggers and results work.

## Create a watering task

  <Step title="Open the plant">
    In the VerdantBot app, select the plant you want to schedule a task for.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a task">
    Tap **Tasks → Add task**, choose **Water**, and set the trigger (a schedule or a moisture threshold).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Save the task. It appears in the plant's task list and runs when the trigger fires.
