# Overview

> How scheduled watering tasks work in VerdantBot.

Tasks are scheduled actions VerdantBot runs for a plant — watering, misting, or sending a reminder. This section explains how tasks are created, ordered, and tracked.

## How tasks run

Each task is bound to a plant and a trigger. When the trigger fires, the task runs and records a result you can review on the [soil moisture dashboard](/mintlify-demo/v1.1/soil-moisture-dashboard).
